Andrew Luck: The Next Big Thing in Houston, Texas Behind Roger Clemens?

by dentonramsey

My best friend made a profound, yet true, statement when we were talking about college football the other day.

Andrew Luck, the star-studded quarterback who led Stanford to a remarkable 12-1 bowl-winning season this year, could be the next big thing in Houston, Texas behind only—say, for example—Roger Clemens in the very near future.

Luck, who spent his pre-collegiate gridiron days at Stratford High School in Houston, has announced that he will return to Stanford for another season—but he absolutely has the NFL in his future.

Which could and will very likely put him in the ranks of Clemens in terms of Houston’s Lone Star State pride and popularity.

But the question remains: Will Luck’s return to Stanford bring the Cardinal another winning season, and possibly a chance at the BCS National Championship?

And when Luck does make that jump to the NFL, will he truly become Houston’s next “big thing?”
