No. 2 Duke, Coach K Prepare To Battle Maryland In ACC Action

By Denton Ramsey, NCAA Basketball Sportswriter

In mere moments, the No. 2 Blue Devils (21-1, 9-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) play host to ACC rival Maryland (16-8, 6-3) as Duke aims to continue conference and home court domination.

The game will air live on ESPN at 6 p.m. CT – with Mike Patrick, Dick Vitale and Stacey Daniels calling the action.

Duke-Maryland match-ups have become quite heated over the years, as many Cameron Crazies await the annual showdowns with the Turtles second to only their yearly festivals surrounding the beating of the baby blue Heels just eight miles down the road.

Coach Mike Krzyzewski’s Blue Devils have rattled off 11 straight victories, and they look to add to that streak tonight in Cameron Indoor.

With a load of talent, and the deepest bench Coach K has had in years, this year’s Devils remind me of the 2001 squad… and if they reach the pinnacle of Shane Battier, Jason Williams and company, they will remain amongst the elite for years to come.

Time to get ready for the action – just eight minutes until tipoff… Check back soon for halftime stats and updates as well as a postgame report.
