Duke On Top 41-30 As Coach K Celebrates Birthday

By Denton Ramsey, NCAA Basketball Sportswriter

Coach Mike Krzyzewski couldn’t ask for a better gift than a W over the Maryland Terrapins.

Duke’s Blue Devils are halfway there, taking an 11-point lead into the break as Coach K celebrates his 61st birthday on the hoops hardwood.

The Blue Devils have used a balanced scoring attack through the first half of action and have pretty much maintained control of the game since the opening tip.

In addition, Duke junior Greg Paulus and freshman Kyle Singler are 9-of-15 shooting from the field combined – helping to lead the hot Blue Devils to a double-digit halftime lead.

Also, the Blue Devils have drained seven three-pointers – compared to zero for the Terrapins – as Paulus leads all scorers with 15 points.

Singler has also made his mark on tonight’s game, putting up 13 points and grabbing five rebounds at the break.

Check back soon for postgame stats, news, notes and quotes as Duke aims to continue their domination in conference play – remaining the only team to garner an undefeated record in the ACC.
