BEAR MADNESS: Bears rout Buffalos, 97-83 as five Baylor players hit double-figures

The Baylor Bears proved what they could do offensively during the first half of action on Tuesday night, Jan. 30 against Colorado at the Ferrell Center.

Baylor jumped out to a 53-30 halftime lead after Curtis Jerrells drained a 3-pointer as time expired, the Bears 10th 3 of the half.

And although Colorado had a second-half surge, knocking Baylor’s lead down to just 11, the Bears were able to get reorganized and regrouped under the helm of head coach Scott Drew to push their lead back to 17.

Aaron Bruce and Henry Dugat led Baylor with 19 points apiece while teammates Jerrells (17 points), Kevin Rogers (15 points) and Tweety Carter (11 points) scored in double-figures as well.

In addition, the Bears dished out 19 assists as a team and out-rebounded the Buffalos 39-32.

With the victory, Baylor moves to 12-9 overall (2-6 in the Big 12) while Colorado drops to 5-13 (1-7).

Baylor returns to the hardwood on Saturday, Feb. 3 as the Bears travel to Ames, Iowa to take on the Cyclones.

Tip time for the Feb. 3 match-up at Iowa State is scheduled for 5 p.m.
