SGP Boys Hoops Update: Warriors go 2-1 at Arlington Martin Tourney

The South Grand Prairie Warriors varsity basketball team picked up a 57-49 victory over Carrollton Ranchview on Saturday, Nov. 25 at the Arlington Martin Tournament.

The Warriors’ Robert Ballard led the way in scoring with 23 points while teammates Donell Lewis added 11 and Lindsey Hughley chipped in with 10.

Demarcus Wilson led Carrollton Ranchview with 17 points.

After a tight first half saw SGP enter the locker room with a 28-26 lead, the Warriors outscored Carrollton Ranchview 29-23 in the second half en route to their nine point victory.

Nov. 24 Highlights: SGP 68, Birdville 39

The SGP Warriors varsity basketball team picked up a 68-39 blowout victory over Birdville on Friday, Nov. 24 at the Arlington Martin Tournament.

After falling behind early at 11-7 after one period, the Warriors never looked back after outscoring their opponent 17-6 in the second period.

South Grand Prairie’s Lindsey Hughley led the team in scoring with 20 points, while teammate Gabe Mason added 10 points.

Nov. 24 Highlights: SA Reagan 66, SGP 56

The SGP Warriors varsity basketball team dropped a 66-56 decision to San Antonio Reagan on Friday, Nov. 24 in the first game of the Arlington Martin Tournament.

After a back-and-forth first half saw SA Reagan with a slim 32-29 halftime lead, the Warriors were outscored 34-27 in the second half as SGP dropped the 10-point tourney opener.

The Warriors’ Lindsey Hughley led the team in scoring with 18 points, while teammates Darius Gregory chipped in with 12 points and Donell Lewis added 10.
