The Houston Astros begin a three-game series with the Chicago Cubs tonight at 7:05 p.m. at Minute Maid Park.

Houston’s Roy Oswalt (9-7, 3.27) will be facing off against Chicago’s Carlos Zambrano (12-5, 3.54) as the Astros wrap up their nine-game homestand against the Cubs.

The Astros, now 57-60 on the season, are hoping the Wizard can bring a win-streak back to Houston as a win tonight would extend Roy’s personal winning streak to four games.

Tonight’s pitcher match-up features two elite 2006 NL All-Stars as Houston begins the first of 17 consecutive games against NL Central opponents.

Houston is currently 8-4 in the month of August, and their latest string of victories included a four-game win-streak before the Astros dropped their latest two.

As of today, the Astros are in third place in the NL Central, five games behind St. Louis, and are 3.5 games behind Cincinnati in the NL Wild Card race.

This season, the Astros are 8-4 against the Cubs – going 4-2 both at home and in Chicago.

On top of that, Houston is 34-28 at home for the 2006 season, good for fifth-best in the NL.

Tonight’s three-game series with the Cubbies begins at 7:05 p.m. on FSN Houston as Roy O aims to get the Astros back into the postseason picture.
