Alpine ISD Board of Trustees hold meeting

By Denton Ramsey / Staff Writer

The Alpine Independent School District Board of Trustees met last night for their scheduled regular meeting. Results from the meeting were not available as of press time.

One of the biggest issues at the meeting was an agenda item in consideration of the cancellation of the May 13 School Board Election.

Other items on the agenda were enrollment and activities reports from local principals, business manager reports, budget amendments and consent items (including board minutes from the prior two meetings and district expenditures for the month of February).

Other issues discussed were the Southwest Security proposal, the wellness policy and the certification of unopposed candidates.

Personal contracts (588 Educational Co-op, Elementary School, Middle School, High School), personal resignations and an adoption of performance goals were also on the agenda.

Also scheduled to be discussed were the Superintendent’s report (enrollment/ADA, building doors repairs and an update on an appeal filed with the State Comptroller) and confirming scheduling for future meetings.

An open forum for public comment was also listed on the agenda for those wishing to voice their concerns to the school board.
