Lady Tigers push win-streak to seven games in win over Bryant

DEMOPOLIS – The Demopolis High School varsity softball team is on a roll after knocking off Bryant on Monday night, 9-0, to improve their win-streak to seven games.

Brittany McGee (16-7) picked up the win for the Lady Tigers, pitching a complete game on just two hits, one walk, and six strikeouts.

India Chancelor led the way offensively for DHS, hitting a two-run homerun (her first of the season), and also knocking in two doubles and four RBI.

Also contributing for Demopolis was Blakely Tart with two hits, Molly Barnes with two hits and an RBI, Dorothy Knapp with two hits and an RBI, Hunter Lewis with an RBI single, and Morgan Patterson with an RBI single.

With the win, the Lady Tigers move to 24-17 on the season and were scheduled to return to action last night against Clarke County.

However, due to inclement weather, the game was cancelled as DHS returns to the field this afternoon in Prattville for a double-header.

Game one will pit DHS against Prattville at 3 p.m. and game two will put the Lady Tigers up against Mountain Brook at 5 p.m.
