WAP JV falls 48-14 to Pickens Academy


The West Alabama Prep Titans got on the board first on a rushing touchdown to build a quick 6-0 lead.

After failing on the two-point conversion and kicking off, Pickens Academy had good field position and they were quickly able to tie the game at 6 on a rushing touchdown.

After Pickens missed the extra point attempt, the score was deadlocked at 6.

Pickens then went on a 27-0 run to put them on top 33-6 with about 2:00 to play in the third quarter.

At the 1:47 mark in the third, the Titans were once again able to score a touchdown on a rush, cutting the lead to 33-12.

After a successful two-point conversion, the Titans were down 33-14.


As the third quarter rolled to an end, Pickens Academy lead in the affair 40-14.

Pickens tacked on one more touchdown with a successful two-point conversion with 6:01 remaining in the game.

The Titans drove the ball to midfield before turning it over on a missed fourth down conversion.

After Pickens drove the ball to the Titans 35-yard line with 35 ticks left in the game, the Titans took a timeout to go over the final game plan.

When the Titans stopped Pickens from picking up a first down, the clock expired ending the game in a 48-14 loss for WAP.
